Once you have received your personalised canvas print, we want to make sure that it will be enjoyed for many years to come. Here are several ways to ensure that your canvas will stay in perfect condition.
The best way to keep your print clean is to brush any dust off with a clean fine bristled paint or varnish brush. A clean feather duster will also work well. We advise you under no circumstances to use a damp cloth or sponge as this may result in removing the varnish coating.
Even though we use the highest quality light fast inks which provide protection against fading for up to 75 years, and with the additional protection of a UV varnish to further protect the canvas against fading and scratches, we do recommend that canvas prints are not hung in a area with strong direct sunlight.
The Stretcher Bars we use for our portraits have been heat treated to avoid any warping, but we do still suggest that canvases are not positioned directly by a heat source such as radiators or above a working fireplace.
In the unusual event that you accidentally dent your print, there is a quick and easy way they removed; Either steam or lightly wet the rear of the canvas with a kettle or damp cloth.
To start with the canvas will appear to expand, but it will re-tighten and remove any dents once it has dried.
