Which photos work well?

Here are some helpful hints to make sure that the photo you send us will give the best results for your pop art portrait or photo on canvas.

If you send us a photo that we cannot use for your chosen style we will contact you and let you know so you can pick a different one. Some of the styles that we offer are more forgiving than others in terms of what the photo quality needs to be.

In Focus

One of the most important things is the sharpness of the photo. The more detail you can see the better. An easy way to see whether or not a photo has clear enough detail is around the eyes of the subject.

Lighting

For Pop art portraits it is very important that the lighting is good, please avoid photos that have strong shadows across peoples faces.

Can I choose my colours?

You can certainly tell us which colours you wish to see used in your portrait.

Alternatively you can let us know if there are any colour schemes you like from one of the example galleries; Otherwise the artist will choose the most appropriate the colours for your design.

You can even send a photograph of the room where you wish to hang your print and we will create a colour scheme which will compliment your interior.

What do you make your frames from?

For our frames we use high quality 33mm and 18mm deep stretcher bars.

They come complete with wedge's allowing you to re-tension the canvas if needed.

Will the colours match what I see on my computer screen?

Every individual PC monitor has different colour settings and the colour reproduction could often be different from the one of the actual print. We use a calibrated monitor so that the prints are produced exactly as they look on our screen. However, if your monitor is not calibrated then what we see could be different form what you actually see on your monitor.

How will my canvas or poster be packaged?

Your box canvas will be wrapped carefully with protective bubble wrap, we then place it within a made to measure heavy duty cardboard box and finally strong brown packaging paper, this ensuring it cannot possibly be damaged during transit via courier.

Photo posters are wrapped in several sheets of acid free tissue paper then sent in reinforced crush proof postal tubes.

How do I care for my canvas?

To maintain and increase the life span of your canvas, do not expose it to continuous, strong sunlight or moisture. Do not clean with a wet/damp cloth. We recommend to brush dust off with a clean fine bristled varnish brush.

How do I hang my canvas?

On the rear of the canvas print there is a fixing which simply needs to be hung onto a screw, nail or picture hook.

All general picture hanging equipment from any good DIY stores will work well.

What will the edges of the canvas look like?

The edges of our box canvas prints are primarily left white, however we can extend the image around the side of the frame, this method is called 'Gallery Wrap'.

When choosing the gallery wrap for standard photos please remember that parts of the photograph will be wrapped around the sides of the frame and will not all be visible from the front.

We can also print the edges a predominant colour from the image.
